'Can't y'all use magnets??': Unorthodox grocery list splits opinion of the internet

I am a serial grocery list forgetter, and boy do I pay the price. In my hubris, I assume my memory will be good enough to remember all five items I planned on getting on my way home from work and half the time, I forget something. Perhaps it is my subconscious trying to tell me that I really don't want to cook tonight.

I'm not always that disorganized—if I know I'm going to do some heavy-duty shopping, I always pull up the Notes app. However, I know I'm not alone in trying to wing it from time to time, or even struggling to recall everything that I wanted to buy.

This has what has led some people to praise one family's strange method of reminding themselves what they need to get at the store. Involving their refrigerator and some duct tape, it certainly makes an impact even if it might not be the most practical way of filling up that shopping cart.
